The Academy at Goodwill & Job Training
The Academy at Goodwill, licensed by the Arkansas State Board of Private Career Education, helps adult learners receive the training they need to secure new employment and advance their career.
Participants of the Academy earn certificates that can lead to meaningful employment in high-demand jobs such as Welding, Forklift Certification, CPR, Mental Health First Aid and Environmental Services Technician.
Our school’s hands-on training is delivered alongside Soft Skills and Life Lessons that help our students go to work fully prepared for long-term success. Job readiness, financial counseling, and job placement services are also provided!
Forklift Operator Safety Training
Forklift Safety Awareness Training classes are held the first and third Friday of every month, from 8:15 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Mornings for this training class are spent watching instructional videos and in discussion, then students take a written exam. The afternoon sessions are hands-on forklift operator training. The training sessions occur at Goodwill’s Resource Center at 7400 Scott Hamilton Drive in Little Rock. Mental Health First Aid
Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. This 8-hour training gives you he skills you need to reach out and provide initial support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem and help connect them to appropriate care.
